Cleaning & Caring
Caring for and cleaning your Sofia cup is one of the easiest parts of having a menstrual cup.
With proper care your Sofia Cup will last you up to 5 years.

Before and after Every Cycle
First things first: wash your hands both for insertion and removal of your cup. Now you can wash your cup with a mild, unscented oil-free wash or just rinse it with cold water. Boil the cup for 5 – 10 minutes in a pot (remember to put your cup in a whisk to prevent the cup from touching the bottom of your pot).
Cleaning Air Holes
It is important to make sure that the air holes is clean for a seal to take place. Fill your cup with water and put it on your palm then turn your cup upside down and squeeze the water through the air holes. Another option is to use a toothpick to clean the air holes.
Getting Rid of Stains
Prevention is key to keep stains away. Each time you remove your cup rinse your cup under cold water as hot water can let stains set. However if you haven’t been rinsing your cup after every use in cold water and your cup starts to stain – we’ve got you covered. You can soak your cup in lemon juice or vinegar to lift the stains and then sterilize again for 5-10 minutes.
Sanitise
Disinfect your cup between cycles by boiling your cup in water for 5-10 minutes.
Storing your Cup
Dry your Sofia cup thoroughly before storing it in the bag provided or any other breathable container. Never use an airtight container or plastic bag to store your cup.
